Alternative Health Insurance Services provides a free benefit to our individual and group clients providing each individual and covered spouse/partner with up to 20 acupuncture and/or chiropractic visits per year, with just a $20 co-payment for each visit.  This complimentary benefit is a bonus for doing business with us and is included with most of the health insurance plans we offer.

We have contracted with Landmark Healthplan of California, Inc. to provide a combined chiropractic and acupuncture benefit that utilizes Participating Chiropractors and Acupuncturists.  A directory of these providers may be found on the Landmark website at www.LandmarkHealthcare.com (see last section of this page for most effective ways to search for providers).

Participants will have a co-payment of only $20 per visit and can receive up to 20 visits per year.  Treatments must be medically necessary to treat an injury or illness.  After an initial visit, subsequent visits need to be pre-authorized by Landmark.  Each participant will receive a Schedule of Benefits and other materials that fully describe their benefits, limitations, and exclusions.  See section below on how you can expand coverage to include acupuncture & chiropractic maintenance when not medically necessary.

This benefit is being provided at no cost to California clients of Alternative Health Insurance Services who are actively participating in a permanent health insurance plan where commissions are being paid to either Alternative Health Insurance or Steve Gorman.  These benefits are being provided only to each covered individual/employee and their spouse/partner.

This program is only available as a complimentary benefit to clients who have purchased their health insurance plans through Alternative Health Insurance Services.

Expanded Benefit Now Available for
Acupuncture/Chiropractic/Herbal Remedies

Beginning July 1, 2007, clients of Alternative Health Insurance Services (AHIS) will be given the option to improve their benefits for acupuncture and chiropractic, as well as add a benefit for herbal remedies.

AHIS currently provides a complimentary benefit for all health insurance clients that includes up to 20 visits per year with just a $20 co-payment for medically necessary acupuncture and chiropractic.

The new expanded plan that clients can purchase will add coverage for acupuncture and chiropractic maintenance treatments which are not medically necessary.

The expanded benefit plan also includes an annual benefit for herbal remedies up to $500.

Services must still be obtained from providers who are part of the Landmark Healthcare network.

Existing clients will be able to enroll into the expanded plan effective July 1.  Those who do not enroll at that time will not be eligible to enroll until July 1, 2008.

New clients will be able to enroll at the time their regular health insurance purchased through AHIS becomes effective.  If they do not enroll at that time, they will not be eligible to enroll until the next July 1.

Searching for Providers

To find acupuncturists and chiropractors who participate in this program, click on www.landmarkhealthcare.com.  Then click on “members”, then on “practitioner directory”.  When asked for group name, select “all others”.  The rest should be self explanatory.

In order to search most effectively, it is suggested that you view by county rather than by city or zip code.  Searching by city or zip code limits results to providers only in that zip code or city.

We welcome nominations for new providers.  We want to continually increase the size of the network to make these benefits of more value to our clients.   If you would like to suggest any provider for participation in the network, please forward their contact information to us (name, address, phone number) and indicate whether they are a chiropractor or acupuncturist.  We will have Landmark contact them.  If you would like us to say that you recommended them, please state that as well.  Nomination information can be e-mailed to steve@alternativeinsurance.com.
